Welcome to Leather and Lace

Welcome to Leather and Lace, a social levelling and raiding guild on the Saurfang server. Whether you are already an established member, new to the guild or looking for a guild to join, this website will aim to answer all your questions about the guild and its members.

Firstly, the official part of the guild website; below is our guild charter, a list of guidelines and regulations that have been put in place in order to ensure a happy environment for all our guildies. Please read them carefully, ensure that you understand what we, the high council expect from our members and what you in turn, as a member of this guild, can expect from us.

Secondly, Please acknowledge the guild blog, it will be used much more often now to let you guys know about information in the guild (congratulations/raiding etc) and also I hope it will be funny at times. So please make a point of having a look and posting comments.

(Please note...we hope you will not feel that by us posting this picture you must "Hail" to us as the high council. Although its a serious subject, we still want the guild to be fun and relaxed and the picture just made me chuckle Love Saressa.x)

Guild Charter

1.Guild member Behaviour

These rules regard, amongst other things, any behaviour that may bring the name of Leather and Lace into disrepute on the server.

i) Remember the Guild is its members. This means taking an active part in the Guild, joining in events, grouping with other Guildies on a fairly regular basis, helping others with quests and doing what you can to help the Guild as a whole.

ii)Also never forget that you carry the Guild's name above your head at all times, conduct yourself in a manner which will earn respect from your fellow players, not contempt.  This means do not spam, do not ninja-loot, do not kill steal and do not get caught up in abusive arguments.

iii)Any member who does not play within Blizzard's policies and Guild rules will be removed from the Guild, as this can damage a Guild's reputation. This includes buying or selling gold using real life money as we as a guild do not wish to support gold selling within World of Warcraft. Conversely, if another player (from another guild) acts poorly toward you, then try politely asking them to stop or reach a compromise, and if that doesn't work, try speaking with one of their Guild's officers.

iv) Please do not auction or sell in guild chat. All profession products unless expensive to make are free to guild members however if a Guildie offers you something cheaply or for free, buy it to use it, not to sell it on elsewhere.

v) Leather and Lace is proud to be a diverse guild, we have members from all walks of life and this means that we do have younger members within the guild. Therefore, any conversation that could be considered mature (18+) or offensive to any guild member must be kept out of guild chat. Strong language (swearing) is permitted however excessive use of profanity must be avoided at all times. However, we do not wish to censor or control our guild members therefore all we ask is that conversations of a mature nature be kept in private party chat or in whisper between the consenting members of the conversation.

2. Hierarchy within the Guild

These rules regard the authority of the high council and outlines their roles and responsibilities within the guild.

i) Leather and Lace has a specific hierarchy for its members. This is as follows:

  1. Initiate: New members of the guild.
  2. Member: Those who have so far proven themselves to be reliable and loyal to the guild and have shown active membership both by being online and by participating in guild events/raids.
  3. Trustee:  A member of the guild who is trusted by the High council, they have shown loyalty to the guild and have proven to be reliable consistently.
  4. Veteran: Those who regularly participate in guild events, help their fellow members, are reliable (sign up to events and actually attend) and those who have made a good impression on the high council due to their outstanding behaviour.
  5. Officer:Law enforcement within the guild, they are the eyes and ears of the high council when they are not online and have the authority of the guild master to deal with urgent guild issues in the absence of the high council. The officers of the guild  (Level 80 chars)are “Paulros”, “Dahlheimen/Herbertn” and “Toirt/Glarg”. This also includes any alts of these players.
  6. High Council: The overseers of the guild, the role of the high council is to act on behalf of the guild master, make decisions regarding guild issues and members and to be the voice of authority in the absence of the guild master. The members of the high council are (level 80 chars) “Fedora”, “Saressa/Sarzara”, “Miststalker/Mjolnirsfury” and “Beanxtown”. This also includes any alts of these players.
  7. Guild Master: The ultimate voice of authority within the guild whose decision is final but always fair.  Our Guild master has three level 80 characters by the names of “Chester”, “Argax” and “Cheztha”.

ii) Please note that all High council and Guild master decisions are made by democratic vote; no high ranking officer can remove members without majority agreement. These decisions are final once made. The only time democratic vote is not required is if a member has been proven to be buying gold or hacking accounts.

iii) Respect the ranks of guild members regardless of age and gender. We carefully consider the ranks of all our members and those with high positions have shown themselves to be, amongst other things, loyal, trustworthy and knowledgeable about the game and therefore they should be respected.

3. Guild Bank

These rules regard the use of the guild bank. The Guild maintains Guild funds. These are for funding of organised raids, prize money, and anything else that benefits the Guild. The funds consist of old items from the guild bank having been sold as well as donations by our members.Failure to use the guild bank correctly will result in disciplinary action taking place.

i) The guild bank is for the sole use of its members, therefore no guild member should remove items from the guild bank to use on a character not in the guild. This also applies to taking items from the guild to sell on the auction house, if you remove an item you must use it on your character within the guild.

ii)From now on, all deposits into the guild must be put into tab 5 (which is to be renamed epics and deposits). This is to ensure that the bank stays organised and thus the items within it are easily accessible.

iii) Theft from the guild bank (through taking items for character not in the guild or through your account being hacked) must be returned to the guild bank within 7 days of the item being removed. If you are hacked and items are removed from the bank in your name, inform the guild master so he can ensure that all items are returned.

iv) If you have unequipped items from the Guild bank on an alt you remove, or if you are asked to leave the Guild, these are expected to be returned. Failure to do so will lead to you being reported to the game master.

4. New Members/Alts/Inactive Membership

These rules regard membership within the guild.

i) If you wish to add new members to the guild (you must be of veteran rank to do this yourself) you must seek permission from the high council before doing so. Failure to do so will result in the new member being removed from the guild. You are permitted to ask the high council to invite a new member on your behalf before you reach veteran rank.

ii) All members of Leather and Lace must have a character of at least level 70 (in the guild) before they can add any alts to the guild. This is to ensure that we have an even variety of both main and alt characters.

iii) In Leather and Lace loyalty pays. If you choose to leave the guild you may join again later however you will join again at the rank of initiate regardless of what rank you reached previously, this is to ensure fairness to the members who have shown loyalty and have stayed with the guild. If you choose to leave for a second time then you may not be permitted to join again.

iv) The Guild master and High council want members to be active in their participation within the guild therefore we ask that any member who knows that they will be inactive for an extended period of time informs a member of the high council. Failure to do so will result in your main character and alts being removed from the guild after a period of three months.

5. Disciplinary Action

These guidelines aim to show members the consequences of any negative actions.

i) Any member of the guild found to be in breach of the above regulations may see their character(s) demoted in rank until the matter is resolved. This may be permanent depending on the high council’s decision.

ii) In extreme circumstances, a guild member who breaks the above regulations may find themselves removed from the guild. If the behaviour is found to break any of Blizzard’s terms of use (upon which many of these regulations are based) then the member will be reported to a game master and may risk being banned.

The Guild Master and the High Council trust that all members of the guild will find these rules acceptable, any member who has an issue with the new rules may discuss them with the High Council or guild master however the rules themselves will not be changed. We also urge you to look at the terms of use as outlined by Blizzard for player behaviour within the game so you can be assured that we have followed these when writing the guild charter. Furthermore we ask all members of the guild to write an acknowledgement on their profile on the guild site so we know that they have read and understood the charter.
